I've been trying to practice GTD for quite a while now and it has worked for me (or so I thought) pretty well. I then started reading David Allen's third book on the subject Making it all work. I've not yet finished this one, but it seems more of an implementation guide-which is obviously what I've wanted and has allowed me to make a few tweaks to my processes.
The other book that I'm reading (via Audible) is Its all too much, which covers de-cluttering your life. We've tackled a few smaller rooms and cupboards around the house successfully using the authors methods, but at the weekend I went big and cleared our garage/outbuilding. We had 4 car fulls of trash/recycling!! Most went to the recycling centre/charity and hardly any was thrown for the landfill. In the past I've tried selling things on eBay etc, but the hassle of creating the adverts, managing the bids and answering the questions, then setting up all of the postage all for a few pence in most cases takes away the instant gratification of having a huge clean, clear space.
We're already talking of doing the loft (the evil place).
